Born: December 7th 1958 in Montecatini Terme (Pistoia).

Education: Degree in Political Science, University of Florence, June 1982.

1985 - 1987 Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Protocol Department.

1987 - 1990 Second Secretary for Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of Italy in Sofia

1990 - 1993 First Secretary for Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of Italy in Brasilia

1993 - 1995 Acting Consul General in Bern

1995 - 1998 Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Directorate-General for Economic Affairs, Multilateral division

1998 - 2002 First Commercial Counsellor at the Italian Permanent Delegation to the OECD in Paris

2002 – 2006 First Counsellor for Political Affairs at the Embassy of Italy in London

2006 -2007 MoFA: Head of the North America Department

2007-2008 MoFA: Head of the South America Department

2008 – 2011 Appointed Minister Plenipotentiary in January 2008, he assumes different functions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers

2012 - 2016 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Algeria

2016 - 2018 Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Summits
