List of Italian officials

The list of international officials of Italian nationality was established in 2014 pursuant to Law 227/2010, which recognizes the role played by Italian officials who work at the International Organizations whose Italy is member State.
For the purpose of the provisions of Law 277/2010, the eligibity criteria are: working or having worked at an international organization for at least 2 consecutive years, or for at least 3 years even if not continuously.

The list of international officials of Italian nationality contained in the portal, which is managed by the Division V of the Directorate General of Human Resources and Innovation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is an important “showcase” that advertises on the web and enhances the professional experience and the skills of the people who have registered themselves, facilitating professional mobility from and to the International Organizations.
The registration on the list of the Italian international officials – which is not an obligation – is subject to acceptance, after verification of the abovementioned requirements, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and produces the following legal benefits:
– The possibility, for the spouses who work, to get a leave of absence for up to three years with the right to keep their jobs, even if employed in the private sector (art. 5 Law 227/2010)
– The allocation of extra points in the event of participation in public recruitment competitions (where required by the relevant notices; art. 4 Law 227/2010).
