High-Level event on AI and human rights

4 April, Rome. The high-level event on the impact of artificial intelligence on human rights, co-organised by the Italian Presidency of the Committee of Ministers and the Council of Europe, took place at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The conference, which was opened by the speeches of Under-Secretary of State Benedetto Dalla Vedova and Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Bjorn Berge, marked the start of the First Plenary Meeting of the Committee for Artificial Intelligence (CAI) of the Council of Europe, taking place up until April the 6th.

The event highlighted the need to continue to stimulate technological innovation to foster social and economic progress in our communities, while ensuring that Artificial Intelligence systems are designed, developed and applied in full respect for human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
